The Bright Side’s Personal Tarot Reading is not a fortune teller, although we do dream of acquiring the machine ones from the old arcades, and do love fortune cookies.
we wonder often how the idea of tarot readings and predicting the future came to be one.
The future is forever flexible after all, not set in stone in our opinion.
To use a tarot reading to solely predict the future seems so stifling, so stuck in a box ridden.
Maybe the fear is that a doomed fate awaits? In some cases this could be true, if doom means exiting the human body, or dealing with human tragedy, but we forget so often that the natural world has no good, or bad- it just has. Fear is fleeting and plentiful and not pondered upon by the animal attempting to run from the road filled with cars.
The Tarot just relates the topics without attachment to the humanness of it all. We are the ones that paint the heartache, and suffering, or the joy and laugh lines.
The tarot then is just a reflection of where we are stuck fixating on some aspect of this human life at our detriment. Where the natural world, and our opinions about out are in conflict.
Think of it like the Christmas Carol story. Minus the need to change to not rot in doom for all of soul’s eternity, but to get ones soul to stop feeling like it’s rotting for all eternity in this very living moment.
A good tarot reading should alert you- like the spirits did in A Christmas Carol, to where you need to exert an effort to change in order to experience life in a way that is going to have you reaching your highest expression of self.
Or at least achieve a calmer nervous system……
